Pediatric Mental Health and Behavioral Care

Support for ADHD, Anxiety, and Childhood Behavior at Children’s Oasis Pediatrics

At Children’s Oasis Pediatrics, we understand that a child’s emotional and behavioral health is just as important as their physical health.
Dr. Sharon Novy and Dr. Katherine Krieg provide compassionate, evidence-based care to help families navigate concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and age-related behavior challenges.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)  strongly supports early recognition and treatment of mental and behavioral health concerns in primary care. We follow these guidelines to give children safe, supportive, and effective care right in our office.

ADHD Evaluations and Pediatric ADHD Support

ADHD Testing • Attention Concerns • Behavior and Learning Support

If you have noticed challenges with focus, impulsivity, restlessness, schoolwork, or behavior at home, your child may benefit from an ADHD evaluation.

Our ADHD evaluations may include:

  • Parent and teacher questionnaires
  • A review of school and home behaviors
  • Screening for sleep or learning concerns
  • A thorough medical and developmental history

Once we complete the evaluation, we work with you to create a personalized plan. This may include support at school, behavioral strategies, counseling recommendations, or medication when appropriate.
The AAP recommends family-centered care for ADHD, and we follow those guidelines closely.

Evaluations for Depression or Anxiety in Children and Teens

Child Anxiety • Pediatric Depression • Mental Health Screening

It can be hard to watch your child struggle with big feelings like sadness, worry, or fear. We offer an initial mental health evaluation to help identify symptoms of anxiety or depression and create a plan of care that supports your child’s needs.

You might notice:

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Changes in appetite
  • Irritability or withdrawal
  • Loss of interest in activities
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Physical complaints like headaches or stomachaches

Our role is to listen, support, and guide you.
We follow AAP guidelines to screen for mental health concerns and connect families with the right resources—whether that means counseling, therapy, school support, or follow-up care in our office.

Age-Related Behavior Concerns

Child Behavior Support • Toddler Behavior • School-Age Challenges

Many parents have concerns about behavior as their children grow. From toddler tantrums to school-age defiance to preteen emotional changes, these issues are common—and you are not alone.

We can help with concerns such as:

  • Frequent tantrums
  • Trouble listening or following directions
  • Aggression
  • Sleep struggles
  • Social challenges
  • Emotional outbursts

Using AAP-backed guidance, we work with families to understand the root of the behavior and provide realistic, supportive strategies that fit your child’s developmental stage.

Why Mental and Behavioral Health Care in a Pediatric Office?

  • Familiar environment for your child
  • Providers who know your family and medical history
  • Evidence-based screening tools
  • Support aligned with AAP recommendations
  • Personalized plans and ongoing follow-up

Our goal is to help your child feel safe, confident, and understood. You never have to face these concerns alone.
